Support the Troops with Everclear and The Bachelor

Snowball Express, a 501( c )(3) non-profit organization – www.snowballexpress.org, provides hope and new memories for the children and families of fallen military heroes who have died since September 11, 2001, while serving in all branches of the United States military.

On Sunday, June 8, 2008, Rock band Everclear will perform in Crystal City Rocks music festival from 2:00-6:00pm with an exclusive After Party Fundraiser in honor of DC Metro Snowball families starting from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.

Milinda Jefferson met Everclear about four years ago during an USO hospital visit at Walter Reed. Sadly on June 3, 2005, Ms. Jefferson’s brother-n-law, SSG Leroy Alexander was killed in action during a special mission in Afghanistan. Her sister, Marissa was carrying his five month unborn twins at the time of notice. Last December 2007, Ms. Jefferson escorted her sister and the now two-year old twins (Avery and Alaya) on their 1st Snowball express flight. The experience was forever life changing.

Now paying it forward and inspired by Oprah’s BIG GIVE, Ms. Jefferson and Everclear will team together for the ultimate Rock star experience to raise funding for Snowball Express 2008 inside Connecticut School of Broadcasting (CSB), 2170 Crystal Plaza Arcade #38, Arlington, VA 22202. CSB will provide a chance for the public to tape (:15 second) video greeting messages to troops overseas. ABC’s “The Bachelor” LT Andrew Baldwin (now stationed in the DC area as a US Navy Medical recruiter) will also make a guest appearance.

According to Ms. Jefferson “everyday is Memorial Day for our families and not just another holiday summer weekend.” The party is open to the public with a $5.00 door cover, but any donations will be accepted via cash, personal checks, or credit cards, too. So please help spread the word. God bless and Thanks!
