DC Design House Benefiting the National Children's Medical Center

Had the opportunity to attend a preview luncheon yesterday for the National Children's Medical Center at this year's Design House at 30th and P in Georgetown. I am one of those nerds who are completely obsessed with HGTV (yes, I apply for the Green Home Giveaway daily), so I loved having the opportunity to learn what inspired each of the individual room designers. Each room was assigned to a different design team, and I was more than impressed at how well it all flowed in a seamless manner! Some of the paints used were C2 Lovo which are not only chic, but environmentally friendly as well!

My favorite room was actually the smallest one in the house- the powder room. Right next to the front door, the designer, Dana Tydings of Tydings Design, Inc., had a brilliant idea. She installed a television through a double sided mirror in the vanity which was hooked up to cable and the security cameras, which allows you to see who is at your front door while you do the last minute hair check in the mirror before answering! Brilliant!!

The Design house opens to the public on April 19th and runs through May 11th at 3014 P Street NW
